Testing the Canon G7

So I decided I wanted a new camera for my birthday. Back in high school I used to be really into photography. Photographer for the yearbook, sports photographer for the school newspaper, etc. Back then I used to use my father’s old Pentax 35mm SLR but since entering the digital age I’ve been refined to a point and shoot. I’ve been pretty happy with it but lately started to want something more. After weeks of antagonizing whether I should buy an SLR or another P&S I decided to try out the Canon G7. It’s about as close as you can come to the manual control of an SLR but still have the portability factor.

I picked it up from B&H yesterday and I have about 12 days to try it out. Here’s some shots I took today for some experiments (click for the full size image):

Those photos are great! Are you happy with the camera and the results?
