“24″ - Same Old Formula, Still Entertaining
February 12th, 2007 by WaS
Just finished watching a 2-hour “24″ night on Fox.
The show seems to follow the same formula every single year, but somehow still keeps it entertaining. I started watching 2 seasons ago, and they’ve all been the same. Some group has WMDs, then CTU runs around trying to find them while every lead is either killed while being captured, or captured, then killed somehow by a traitor on the inside. This always happens just before any useful information could be gotten out of them. Meanwhile, the bad guy narrowly escapes every single time - usually through some embarrasing ineptitude on the part of CTU. Why do I keep watching? I don’t know! Despite this tired formula, they somehow manage to make it extremely entertaining and incredibly suspenseful. The show is a soap opera. If they made a “24″ magazine and sold them in supermarkets I guarantee they would sell.
24 kicks ass!
