The Wintergarden

One thing I’m really going to miss when I leave my job is the incredible Wintergarden atrium. It was all but destroyed after 9/11 but they invested God knows how much money in rebuilding it - exactly the way it was before. I for one am thankful they did. There’s no better break from work that grabbing a cup of coffee and sititng or strolling under the palm trees. During the afternoon, the Wintergarden basically becomes a nursery. It is filled with mostly nanies, I assume from the nearby apartment buildings watching over countless kids running around, playing on the garbage cans (yes, I saw this last week) and having a blast.
The best time of the year though is Christmas. They do one of the best jobs decorating there than almost anywhere else in the city. I highly recomend everyone see it before they take it down.
